A very cherished colleague died this last week and I just want to share my
grief with you. He was one of those rare writers whose spirit you could
admire as much as his talent. He was Gay and angry and these things were in
his writing; but he was also a gentle man, full of affection for the world
and his friends and this too was in his writing. I will miss him deeply.
